Author’s Note: Here’s my entry to @spxderbarnes Em’s 21st Birthday Writing Challenge! I’m so excited because this is my first Bucky fic (or Marvel, rather)! I hope I get my characterization right because I love Bucky and I just love this story. Hope you enjoy this, Em! Happy Birthday, darling!
Plot: 1940s post-war era. Steve and Bucky are brothers and are teenagers, and they never served in the army because they were too young to join during the war. You find out you’re pregnant with Steve’s baby. Both Steve’s and your parents arrange for you and Steve to get married, but Steve declines. Ultimately, his father offers his other son, James (later known as Bucky), to marry you in Steve’s place.
Pairing: Steve Rogers x Fem!Reader, Bucky Barnes x Fem!Reader (eventually)
Warnings: 18+ Content! Teenage pregnancy, arranged marriage, religious theme, sexist theme, fluff, smut (of course), angst (a lot of it in this chapter), Steve being a cold jerk, characters coming from the comics (i.e. Bucky’s family), MCU characters appearing in this era (i.e. Bruce is your younger brother and some others who will appear in the next chapters).
A/N: This is it y’all. This is the end. Skip reading this if you want to miss all the sappy stuff. Writing this series has been nothing like I thought it would be. It’s made me cry and it’s made me smile like a maniac. It’s calmed me down and stressed me out. This all started with the smallest idea and through your encouragement, it became all it currently is. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for every comment and like and reblog. You’ll never know how much it all means to me. As always you can send it requests for writing or tags here. (PS let me know if you want to be moved from this tag list to another) My main masterlist is here and the series masterlist is here. So for the last time (for this series), let’s jump into it.
You woke up slowly after reaching out and finding the bed cold. Sitting up and stretching, you rubbed the sleep out of your eyes. You swung your legs out of the bed and walked down the stairs and towards the kitchen. The smell of coffee and bacon greeted you, as well as the sight of a man, facing away from you, bare-backed and green plaid pajama pants slung low on his hips. Careful not to alert him to your presence just yet, you quietly walked into the kitchen and wrapped your arms around his waist from behind.
“Mornin’ handsome,” you mumbled as you kissed the spot between his shoulder blades.
Omg, this was such a pain in the ass, but if you want to fix your stuck blog this is how you do it.
Everything I posted after my first “request for review” got stuck. It was like they put my damn blog on hold. So all the edits I was doing to past posts clogged up my dash. Everything I posted since yesterday afternoon got stuck behind those.
First off, go into your “mass post editor” (little man, pick your blog, find the MPE beneath Edit Appearance), choose all the posts that haven’t shown up since your blog got stuck and add a tag. I chose “Test” to make it easy to find.
This should get your blog moving again. Now, go into your blog, not your dash, but your actual first page. The Home Page. This will show you the posts that have been “flagged and reviewed” like mine were. I did this second step with both desktop and mobile open to see my progress.
It’s like all your newest posts are being hidden behind old ones, so depending on how many posts you’ve made, this could take a while. Scroll down (easiest on mobile) to find your most current post to see how long this dang process will take. Mine was about 7 pages down.
Now, you have to Edit the Tags on EVERY GODDAMNED POST BETWEEN THEM. Yes. Every bloody post (easiest to do on Desktop). I added the word “Testy” to every post and then refreshed my home page to see if it was working. It took me 45minutes to get through all the posts, but once I finished, my blog was on track again, and people can now see my current posts.
